COVID Updates

The Morgan Hill Unified School District will align to the Public Health Guidance for TK–12 Schools and Child Care Settings to Support Safe In-Person Services and Mitigate the Spread of Communicable Diseases for the 2024-2025 School Year to continue to support full-time, in-person instruction at all schools. 

Current state  guidance update on July 11, 2024, for the general public, including schools and child care which is as follows: 

  • Stay up-to-date on recommended vaccinations. As of January 26, 2026, California follows the California Department of Public Health guidance

  • Stay home to prevent respiratory viruses if you are sick

  • Seek Treatment if you have symptoms, contact a healthcare provider as soon as you test positive. ​ Need medical insurance for you or a family member? Contact Covered California. 
  • ​​​Mask  when you are around other people indoors for 10 days after you become sick or test positive for a respiratory virus (if no symptoms). 

Staff or Students who are exhibiting  symptoms of Respiratory Virus  or test positive for COVID-19 should stay home for a full 24 hours  and may return when symptoms are getting better overall for at least 24 hours. Students returning after a respiratory illness should consider masking and additional actions to reduce spread. 

In the workplace, employees/employers are subject to the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Non-Emergency Regulations ​ or in some workplaces the Cal/OSHA Aerosol Transmissible Diseases (ATD) Standard (PDF) and should consult those regulations for additional requirements.
