School Closures Extended Through May 1, 2020

School Closures Extended Through May 1, 2020

Today the Santa Clara County Office of Education issued a joint press statement announcing a regional decision to extend school closures until May 1.

The Morgan Hill Unified School district values the health and safety of our employees, students and families. It is our goal to limit the spread of COVID-19 as much as we can. We will continue to offer distance learning and enrichment throughout the closure. We are offering a wide range of educational resources for our students that will be continually updated during the closure. Our student nutrition program will continue to distribute meals on Mondays until schools are back in session. Please use our website as a resource for helpful information. Many of our employees will also be called back to safely perform other essential services.

We will continue to work closely with Santa Clara County Public Health and Santa Clara County Office of Education who are working in a coordinated approach with counterparts in the region to best support the children in our community. We ask that you continue to follow the Shelter in Place guidance provided by Public Health Officers including:  social distancing, washing hands often with soap and water, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, staying home if you are feeling sick. Please contact your healthcare provider if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing. It is okay to continue to engage in regular exercise or physical activity

Please know that we are as anxious to get back to school and a sense of normalcy as much as you are. We feel at this time that will be best achieved by adhering to the advice of our Public Health Officers. Be well, more information to follow.
