MHUSD Welcomes Pilar Vazquez-Vialva, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services

The Morgan Hill Unified School District is pleased to announce that Pilar Vazquez-Vialva has joined our staff as the new Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services as of July 15, 2019.

Vazquez-Vialva comes to us most recently from the Metropolitan Education District in San Jose, where she was Director of Educational Services. With over 15 years experience in education including elementary school educator and high school principal roles, Vazquez-Vialva’s passion lies in coaching and supporting leaders in developing their understanding and awareness about the many constructs and layers impeding systems of equity from developing.

“I am excited to join the Morgan Hill Unified School District executive team and share in their passion and commitment to serve this community. I feel drawn to the diversity and culture that makes Morgan Hill so special. I plan to support the vision and mission for all students to have a safe and equitable school experience with caring and dedicated teachers, staff, and principals.”

Vazquez-Vialva believes in the great work happening every day for Morgan Hill students and aims to collaborate with others to strategize and identify growth opportunities. She embraces the deeply proud legacy of the MHUSD community and has some ideas on how she can be a strong collaborator and advocate.

“As a lead learner and equity-driven leader, I model the importance of a continuous cycle of inquiry, reflection, and improvement with the goal of inspiring and influencing change for the benefit of student outcomes as well as staff and faculty development and learning. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community and look forward to listening, learning, and asking lots of questions to better understand where I can begin developing my goals.”

Vazquez-Vialva is most looking forward to fostering relationships with students, teachers, parents, staff, and community members. The Morgan Hill Community couldn’t be happier to offer her a warm welcome.
