Essential Services Workers Childcare Program

Essential Services Workers Childcare Program

Morgan Hill Unified School District has introduced a new childcare program this week. The district has partnered with the Santa Clara County Office of Education and the YMCA as a result of consultation with Santa Clara County Public Health.

This childcare program is aimed at helping Essential Services Workers who are out on the front lines in the wake of COVID-19. These essential workers are needed to continue to do their jobs, but many are having childcare issues due to daycares and schools closing due to Shelter in Place. The program will be held at Barrett Elementary School in Morgan Hill, which is conveniently located right off of 101. There are 30 available spots initially, but plans are underway to scale the program if needed. The hours are from 6:30 am to 6 pm. Financial assistance is being offered for the program, which runs $300 per week. The program provides children three meals per day when they are enrolled. Classrooms are cleaned throughout the day and each night after the program. Click here for more information.
