MHUSD Welcomes Volunteers to Our Schools

Volunteers are an important part of the Morgan Hill Unified community, giving their time to support students in classrooms, school programs, field trips and activities throughout the District.

For the 2026-27 school year, MHUSD has taken steps to make the volunteer onboarding process more convenient and streamlined. New and returning volunteers can complete their annual volunteer application electronically, allowing it to be routed directly to the appropriate schools and departments and helping reduce the time it takes to become an approved volunteer.

The District is also bringing volunteer processing closer to our families. In addition to regular fingerprinting and volunteer processing hours at the District Office, MHUSD is offering mobile fingerprinting opportunities at select school sites. These school-based opportunities are designed to make completing the volunteer clearance process more convenient for families and community members.

Volunteer opportunities take many forms. Community members may help regularly or occasionally, assist in classrooms and school offices, support athletics and band programs, or participate in school-sponsored field trips and other activities.

New volunteers complete an application and required training, provide the necessary identification and TB documentation, complete fingerprinting, and receive an MHUSD volunteer badge once all requirements have been cleared. Returning volunteers must complete a new application and updated training each school year and obtain a current  volunteer badge. Fingerprint results remain valid as long as an individual continues volunteering with MHUSD without a break in service.

Whether you can give a few hours for a special activity or volunteer regularly throughout the school year, your time can make a meaningful difference for our students and schools. We appreciate the many parents, family members and community members who choose to get involved!
