Candidate Statement:

Hi, My Name is Ronney, I am currenltly a student at live oak & and im going to explain why i should be our Student Board Member for this school year.

Our Morgan Hill Unified School District contains 13 schools and about 8,013 students according to usnews.com, That's a lot of students to govern over and meet their desires, but what does this have to do with the student board position? Well, me, as a student board member, will stand up for you and make sure YOUR voice is heard across the district. I will stand up for you and our right to have a say in what the district does that impacts you and are teachers, like policies passed and rules. It's important we have someone on our district board who understands what lt means to currently be a student enrolled in MHUSD, a student who understands and can meet everyone where they are at, and a student who wants the same thing as every other student. It's important that what we want is met if possible, and it's important. we keep exercising the right to have a say inour schools. Our district is big, and so can our voices be, Thank you.

Rebekah Latin, Ann Sobrato High School

Candidate Statement:

Hello Morgan Hill Unified students! My name is Rebekah Latin and I feel honored to be running for Student Board Representative for the 2025-26 school year. For those of you who don´t know me, I have been a part of this district from the very beginning, attending Nordstrom Elementary, Martin Murphy Middle School, and Ann Sobrato High School. I participate in many different extracurriculars and pride myself as a leader. I have been a part of the Ann Sobrato High School Wind Ensemble and Jazz band for all four years and have served as a section leader. I also have been on the Varsity Tennis Team since freshman year where I have been appointed this year's team captain. In the future, I plan on double majoring in Journalism and Film with the hope of travelling around the world and sharing stories from individuals in marginalized communities. My passion for representation of others is what inspired me to step up to this position. I understand what it feels like to have your voice ignored, as there have been many times in my life where my feelings and concerns were swept under the rug. So, if I am given this responsibility, I will do everything in my power to make sure every student in our district's concerns are recognized. Thank you all for your consideration!
